PHEW

I just got back from D.C. on Vacation and sorry I couldn't make any blog posts then. It was a total Quiyboriea!  On the first day we drove to D.C. all day and got there at 8: 25 P.M. On the next day Mom dragged me everywhere and I spent the Morning walking my feet off at an underground art museum complex holding her bags. On the way back we stopped for lunch at the old posh post posh post office.  The bags ripped twice! Then we went to the Smithsonain museum of natural history where I looked at marine biology and Mom looked at neanderthls and apes. Mom also saw the biggest knitted croquet coral reef made yet and got all excited about doing a project like this. We went and said hi to my grandad and his wife (Cross-the Sugg grandparents all died out) to make preparations for the evening. After that the fire bell went off when I was in the shower and it turned out to be a false alarm. Then we went to Grandparent's apartment and one of my uncles (Tim, to be precise) dropped by with my cousins and aunt. We had large feast and I got 2 presents!! Mom got 1 so I annoided her a lot. The next day I went visiting to Aunt Mary, my Greataunt who gave us lots o' sweets and we talked a long time. At night we went out for pizza and I ate a 13-inch Pizza with lots of toppings in 40 minutes and then on the next day (Today) we drove home. What a total Zamblevicor!

SNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!

SNOW SNOW SNOW! Today Mom's computer power cord busted, so Dad drove us to the mall. Mom got a new power cord at the apple store, It's great for fixing up things (So please don't sue me for mentioning the company.) Mom should have her blog about it but her blog of today's about snow photos! I went out in the snow after we got back home, spent 2 hours snowful, and came inside all cold and wet and got into my nice warm dry pajamas while Mom made me some hot chocolate with marshmallows and I spent the rest of the day inside at home. I've been preparing for Tomorrow. Something big happens Tomorrow. I'm not going to tell you what it is now (You can find out from Mom's blog.) so stay tuned!

Bibly Bubly Bungrobious Boxing Day!

LOOT!! SNOW!!  ABSENCE O' WORK!! Bibugubrely Boxing Day! Yesterday I got: some books, some games, some music, a remote-control helicopter, pajamas and LOTS o' food! Today I mostly hung around the house and played with my new things. It was a total rules-off sort of day and I didn't have to do anything I don't want to! And SNOW! It snowed last night and up to 4 inches today! I hope it snows more!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Today I woke up just at after dawn. I'm writing this while I wait for Mom and Dad to wake up. I haven't gone downstairs yet or seen the tree, I hope I got some presents! Yesterday was a nice day. Dad took me out bowling but the alley was closed. So we went to Umstead Park and walked about looking at nice stones by the riverside. I'm a-quiver with exitement!

A summary O' today

Today I didn't have any time to do stuff I wanted to in the Morning when I was having breakfast and doing math and drawing Christmas cards, did more Christmas cards and made preparations for someone coming over and running around the house and having lunch and soup and second lunch and snack and soup and food and soup and feasts and third lunch and making Mom totally over-react when I finished all the soup at Noon.  Then we drove around the tri-Island area with Mom running errands and dropping stuff off at random houses while a storm was brewing in the Afternoon and Evening, and I did stuff on the computer at Night. I also played chess with Dad. And ate dinner. And snack and brunch and dessert and more snack and 648th Breakfast and I didn't eat very much.  Mom's boisterously over-reacting on just a small bit of soup!

YI-YI-YI-YI-YI!

WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Fooowf. Today was great; I went to Journeys (Mom's spiritual center.) And we had a BIG MASSIVE GIGANTIVE PARTY where I got a present; and Jeremy (a young friend o' mine) came by this afternoon and Mom never took me on a walk like she planned. Now I'll go into detail and you might want to stop reading this if you don't want to be bored into submission; WOW I SPELLED THAT RIGHT ON FIRST TRY! Anyway, At the Journeys Christmas party, there was a potluck buffet (What a weird word.) I went around and got some bits of ham and jam and spam and am so after that Santa came and all the kids lined up to go see him and tell him what we wanted for Christmas. I said that I didn't know. After that I got a chess set and so when we got home I got into my pajamas (Wow I spelled that right on first try too.) And I made Mom lunch in bed and then we played chess. I had just gone "Ha! Check!" with my rook flying to where her Bishop was when the door rang and so we went to the door and guess who was there : none other than Mr. Brian and Jeremy!<><><><><><><>so....
We played with my exercise ball in a haphazard (Wow I spelled that right on first try as well) and fast and wild and FUN way until Dad told us not to be so wild and more quiet. Then Mom showed Jeremy some disco And they left after giving us some nice pointsettias. The GPS acts weird often. Just finished a Christmas special. Mom will go bonkers when she sees the size of this post! A wall of text! Bye!

Today I decorated the tree and yelled at Mom.  I also built the tallest Kapla block thing I ever built yet. I also e-Mailed Dad a lot of Images. Here they are:

I saw a CHICKEN!

8 Days till Christmas! Qwertyuiop. I just decorated the tree with Mom. Today I went somewhere and saw... guess what... REAL GENUINE LIVE CHICKENS! There were Actual chickens! I mean, REAL actual chickens! I'm Really Serious! They pecked around the coop and clucked at shampoo bottles and road maps. REAL LIVE CHICKENS! Too bad you can't have any in Cary. The friend I saw who has the REAL LIVE CHICKENS lives in Garner.

CHOCOLATE!

Mom just got out the Belgian chocolate assortment that I got her for her birthday. HOORAY CHOCOLATE!! Today Dad went and picked up our tree from the lot. I went to art class today and made Mom a present. Nothing else happened much. Mom did some cleaning under her bed and we went to get some groceries. That's about it. CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BYE!

Simon Bolivar


Simon Bolivar came from Venezuela and was clearly fond of it.  He was born in 1783. As a young lad he studied in Europe for several years and then returned to South America. He became general in 1813 and started a long campaign on Independence which was run from Venezuela and covered Mexico to Argentina. The war lasted for 19 years and often wasn’t decisive. He is famous throughout South America and always called El Libertador. He was also the president of Colombia, Venezuela, Peru and Bolivia. He died in 1840.

The Holidays are COMING!!

0h no and hip-hip-horay, The holidays are coming! What do You do for them? I'd like to know... Just talk about it in the comments. By the way, I'll probably go up to D.C. for Mom's family reunion. When there, we check into a hotel, run around sightseeing for a few days, then everyone meets at my grandparent's house and we give gifts. The car trip there is infamous. I'll get my tree on Wednesday. We get it right after Thanksgiving and pick it up near Christmas. I wonder how much loot we will get for Christmas. Hopefully not much. Mom was talking about decoraiton, but now she isn't in a Christmasy mood at all. Wow, this blog is longer than the ones I've been writing of late. I'll have to do some fast responding soon! That's all.

A surprise

Today mom said that the history club meeting had been posponed. Now I can enjoy a morning at home in bed with Mom. Ha! I got my blog post done before she did! I'm feeling quite good in bed and listening to Mom endlessly yakking with other moms she knows. On Sunday night I went to a party at the Last-Powell's house. Every Tom, Jane, Ebenezer, Dick, Ron and Ichbar that ever happened were there! It was quite crowded. I had some food. Mom brought our crock-pot filled with stuff I didn't touch, and it leaked all over the trunk! P.S. Mom said it was chili, and she said it was delicious, but I don't know...

Happy Hanukkah pt. 4

Today it SNOWED!!!!!!!! In NORTH CAROLINA!!!!!!!!!!! ON THE 4th OF DECEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were at barns&noble when it started SNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWING!!!!!!!!!! I hit Mom with snowballs a lot and we went downtown and we got cold and wet so we went home and laid in bed in our pajamas and drunk hot choclate with marshmellows.

Happy Hanukkah pt. 2

A recipe for kosher cake. Mom made these for my Dad's birthday. I quite like them. I'm still having them for desserts; they make nice ones.


Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups cold water

Directions

  1. Sift flour, sugar, salt, soda, and cocoa together into a 9 x 13 inch ungreased cake pan. Make three wells. Pour oil into one well, vinegar into second, and vanilla into third well. Pour cold water over all, and stir well with fork.
  2. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 to 40 minutes, or until tooth pick inserted comes out clean. Frost with your favorite icing.

HAPPY HANUKKAH PT.1

For Hanukkah my mom suggested that I should do something special on my blog and she was doing something on her blog and it would be something going on for 8 days so...

A recipe for kosher molasses cookies:



MOLASSES COOKIES

INGREDIENTS:

3/4 cup margarine
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons egg replacer
2 tablespoons water
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 cup white sugar
DIRECTIONS:

In a medium bowl, mix together the melted margarine, 1 cup sugar, and egg replacer in water until smooth. Stir in the molasses. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger; blend into the molasses mixture. Cover, and chill dough for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Roll dough into walnut sized balls, and roll them in the remaining white sugar. Place cookies 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 10-12 minutes in the preheated oven, until tops are cracked. Cool on wire racks.

Today is Dad's Birthday! I got him (Unsaid number) presents and while I was wrapping them I ran out of wrapping paper so Mom got me some tissue paper and after that I ran out of tape so I used double-sided tape. I hid them (Unsaid location).  He might like them and He might not.

Dad don't read until the 30th of November.

Happy Thanksgiving I'm rather tired and sleepy anyhow Dad found some favorable hats including a sleepy rock-hard bowler (Oddjob-like) And a stereotypical sleepy black fur big Russian hat. Mom was shooing me away from (And off) her nice warm cozy sleepy bed all day. Dad's birthday is tomorrow, I got him some gifts and wrapped them up in sleepy paper... A errandey day

Today I mostly was out. This morning I went to history co-op. At history co-op I did various activities;  I quite liked it and I ate the best okra for 1845046473864284652913746 square miles around! Then we did some errands, went home for lunch, went out and did more errands! We got some things for Thanksgiving and looked for stuff for Dad's birthday and all, then we went home and stayed there.

The Sahara Desert

The Sahara Desert is the hottest and second biggest desert in the world! It covers more than half of North Africa and shares 12 countries! The Nile and a few other oases flow through it. Fossils of Jobarias were found in 1997 in Tiouraren Formation. Lots of volcanic mountains can be found in it. The Tanezrouft is the worst and lifeless area of the Sahara. Lots of camels can be found down in deep gorges and canyons around it. The desert is populated with Sand Vipers, spotted Cheetahs, ostriches and many sorts of foxes. Berbers are the oldest human inhabits of the Sahara. Many Biblical scenes took place in the north-east Sahara. It’s prime Territory for sand storms and dust devils.

Tonight I'm feeling better than I was this morning. My nose stopped running and I lost a cold. Today I went to a Thanksgiving potluck after crafting a Menorah out of donuts. Then I felt bored and tired. On the way back Mom stopped to get some citrus. Once we got home I lounged about in bed and felt much better.

Today I've got a COUGH-COUGH! frog in my throat. Today looks like a d-COUGH-COUGH! Urgg-day for lazying about. It's the 20th day of sCOUGH-HACK-COUGH-COUGH!!! Ow... Timber. My aunt is coming for Thanksgiving; it sounds like a total nightmare of trying to clean up. COUGH-COUGH-COUGH!!! Dad got the heater fixed, so we're all set for winter! COUGH!

Synagogue

Today I went to a Jewish synagogue. I wore my fanciest clothes! Mom wrote her blog post about it, but it goes on from Purim to Rosh Hashanah. The service was like choir.   Everyone who did the service before sang a lot. I wore a hat called a yarmulke.  It kept falling off my head. After the service we went and had some nosh. Then we toured the building. I read a comedy version of Exodus. I had a very good time. There I heard a joke/proverb: Put 2 Jews together and you get 18.385 different options, each of which is the opposite of all the others!

Brrrrrrrrrrr....

Tonight Mom took me to Cameron Village to hear a choir sing. My friends Robert and Matthew sang in it. Matthew grew 3 feet since last time I saw him. They were singing Christmas carols and by the time I went home my head was chock-full of carols! It was very, very, very, very, very fun! On the way back I had a conversation about avid gamers and my Christmas list. Nice night. By the way, what's an ETROG? It has something to do about Jewish...

Another day.

Today was the last day of co-op for this semester. I did geology and bioliogy. The moms that teach this work very very hard and I really enjoy the classes and I learned loads.  In the geology class I heard about the 3 types of rock and in biology I heard about parts of cells.

As we were coming home, Mom stopped at a grocery store and spent so long shopping there that by the time we got out, it was dark! Then she went to the grocery store across the street, then we drove a while, then we stopped at another grocery store as she forgot something from the others, then we got home!

A day of rest

Today is a lazy sort of day. I'l problay be snacking, doing schoolwork and housework, lazying around, and not going outside once today. I already did my online math and grammer some cleaning. Mom is panicked about the state this house is in. someone might be coming over for Thanksgiving. I'm not thinking about my Christmas list until Thanksgiving is over. Rainy outside. Comfy and warm inside. Lazy sort of day.

Long ride

Today I drove to Asheboro and back! I spent a very long time in the car. Mom got me some oranges so I ate them right up and our car will be smelling like citrus for days now. On the way there we stopped and got some hot dogs and on the way back we got some pizza. We left home at dawn and got home after dark. I brought 4 books to read and read 1 over and over. I also played with my Mom's cellaphone a lot. We stopped at HOBBY LOBBY on our way there. Mom says I should get working on my Christmas list even though it's not Thanksgiving yet! I also went to the zoo for zoo club and saw a Flamingo. Some of my friends and I played around the zoo and it started to rained. On the way to it it was a picturesque day!

My mom is constantly being summoned around the house. Me and my dad depend on her too much. We always call for for any sort of problem, though we could fix them ourselves with no effort, we always call her for any sort of problem and plenty of times for no reason at all. She is always hearing "MOM! The heating went down!!" "CAROL! The open window is letting in the cold!!" "MOM! I'm hungry!!" "CAROL! I can't find my screwdriver collection!!" "MOM! We depend on you too much!!" "CAROL!" "MOM!!!!!!!!!!" And sometimes we [Me and my dad.] have shouting wars that sound like this: "MMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" A good book

Anyway, yesterday I read HIS MAJESTY'S DRAGON by Naomy Novik and it is a very good book. It is about a captain of a ship when they capture a french splintery rubble heap and find that its cargo is a very valuable dragon egg, which hatches before they can get it to land. Its name is Temeraire and it becomes a good friend of Capt. Will Laurence. The 2 go off to join the air force, and are sent to a scottish island for training and meet other dragons and dragon-riders, like Volatilus with Capt. James, a fast dragon, though simple and ending all his sentences with a ! And Lily with Capt. Harcourt, a old and big dragon who survived heavy wounds in a ambush.

Jam yesterday, jam tomorow, but never jam today. This morning I went to newspaper club and it was at the library in the meeting room I usualy have my Newbery book club in.  I had lunch at The Urban Turban with Robert and Miss Nadine. Then we went bowling and I won 2 games in a row---first time I did anything of the sort. We then went to get fresh just-arrived grapefruits from Florida and then I got home and read HIS MAJESTY'S DRAGON and now I'm writing my blog.

New Boat

Today my dad bought a new boat and towed it out into the middle of the lawn. The previous owner called it "Mr. Moon." Dad tried to put a tarp over it to keep it from rain and leaves and I helped with that. It looks like perfect hiding place, and one could just slip under the tarp and lay in the cabin or out under the benches and read or snack, preferably both.

Henry Clay

Henry Clay was a main War Hawk;  he was one of the important supporters of the War of 1812.    He was voted into  the House of Representatives In 1811 and was voted Speaker in his first day (something that had never been done before and hasn’t been done since). Clay was a most powerful Speaker of the House of Representatives yet (and successful and popular, too). 
He Was Very Supportive Of The American Plan (or, The Monkey or, the Every Man For Himself At The Expense Of His Neighbors Plan).  In the American Plan, people had to pay tariffs or taxes on imported or exported goods.  The money went to the federal government to make a large central bank and to pay for roads and canals and such.


Later, he was the founder and leader of the Whig Party! Clay also introduced the drink called a Mint Julep to DC.

Yesterday I did some Baseball and went to a art studio where I ate a Itailain Sausige. Tonight I'm going to a halloween party. There might be any food there.

Co-op Day

Today First I woke up. My mom said to get out of my pajamas and into my clothes.  She said I had 3 hours before co-op, so she asked "What do you want for breakfast?" and I replied "English muffins!" and she asked "Are you going to eat them?"(see, of late I have not been eating my breakfast), and so I said "No, but I don't want to do work first thing in the morning." That quite put Mom in a mood. She sent me to do some online math on the computer, and once I got that done I did stuff on the internet.

Mom told me to get out of my pajamas and into my clothes, and to wear some clean clothes, so I did just that. I wore yellow-white plaid shirt and my dark blue pants. I then had some lunch, remarked about hobbit's days (Breakfast, Second Breakfast, Elevenses, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Dinner, and Supper), and then mom told me that my teacher forgot to do something in class and needed to make sure that we had a sheet of paper marked "The Rock Cycle Game" And I did have that. My Mom got me in the car and we left for co-op.

When we got back, my dad lit a fire in the fireplace for my comfort and I warmed up by it while reading. My Dad and Mom warmed up and read by it also. We had dinner there and had Peas and Ground Beef with Broccoli. After that I read by the fire for a while and my mom read by it until it went out.

Why you can't count on the next generation to appreciate the American way of life

Today I took a walk with my mom as we walked to a voting place. Mom voted for some people and I don't remember who now. On our walk we talked about voting and the government. I don't see why I have to contribute before I'm old enough to vote. Although I don't know why I'm making it a big deal about not being allowed to vote. When you vote, as you know, you decide which candidate to vote for by their policies, and I don't understand the policies, so I have no idea who to vote for and so I shouldn't make a big deal about not voting until I turn 20. The problem is that I have little appreciation for our federal government because I don't understand it and I'm not allowed to have a say in it. I care more about botany.

Fun facts

Today I learned some interesting things. A cicada killer has the biggest stinger you've seen on a wasp! Some plants have separate genders! Red anthills always face due south. HEAVE-HO! SPLASH, THUMP! Black walnuts are costly; you can plant them in your yard now and by the time you're grown up, you can sell them and make profitable money. Bison used to live in North Carolina prairies; if you can find a forgotten prairie in an odd corner, maybe you can find some! River oats are uncommon. Beech forests in very early november remind me of The Shire and Hobbiton.

Halloween the IXVM I don't know roman numerals.

Today I went trick-or-treating. My costume consists of a black robe with letters embroidered! I also have a fake grey beard, a king's ring, and a crown. My costume is King Azaz The Unabridged.  He is a character from The Phantom Tollbooth. I had mongolian fun. I ran into 2 people dressed as hot dogs at once! What are the odds of that happening!? A very unlikely Halloween. I got a infamous bag of loot, and found many neat decorations.

Today I went trunk-or-treating. It's when you go in a parking lot and go from car to car trick-or-treating. I got a voluminous bag o' eatable loot!  People really went through extra measures to decorate their cars. I saw lots of neat cars.   Before that there are some games to play. I had nomadic fun.

West Bengal!

West Bengal is a state in Indian. The state has a total area of 88,752 KM2.
It’s one of the most populated bits of anywhere. It has its own language and its top city is Kolkata. South Bengal houses the biggest mangrove forest and home of the Bengal Tiger. It has very very very low elevation, and 8% would be flooded if the sea rose a meter. the highest peak of the state is Sandakfu-3,636 m-11,929 ft. Mahasthangarh is the oldest site in West Bengal. Raja Ram Mohan Roy is considered the father of west Bengal Renaissance. The state bird is the white-throated kingfisher. The current governer is M.K. Narayanan. It has 19 districts and was established on May 1,1960. It is a place very vunerable to Monsoons.

baseballs and bats

Baseballs are made of good stuff now-days. Whenever I try, I can't make the cover come off it, even though I hit it so hard that it went soaring past the outfield and over the woods (and that was a home run) but it didn't get a scratch or dent! I also note the bats are good when made of metal, but I tried a wooden one and it got a splintering crack, and the next player up got a single and it still broke.

History and gripes

In WW1 the planes were very light. They were made of spruce and canvas and tin. They could be picked up by a strong person.  Engines were unreliable but handy. A mounted gun never helps. It would be much more effective to drop a mushy tomato, I told them that, but does anyone listen? Oh no, no-one even pays any attention to me! It's too hot, the field is too dusty, the bat is too heavy, the gloves make me itchy, the pitcher's mound is too low, blah blah blah blah blah gripe complain whine annoy and by the way I don't know why Sopwhip Camels are called that.

Fireworks to toads

I heard that some fireworks are called "thunderclaps" and some are called "wizzbobs" and I like firecrackers! A lot of toads are called an army; I wonder why.

Today I had a very busy day. I did art, science, math and lots of rubber bands. First I went to newspaper club. My mom dropped me off there. I was supposted to do an article on Argentina, but instead I drew 3 comics for the newspaper, while Ryan and Dylan and Robert worked on another story. Then a mom served pizza and we all had a lot of it. We had dessert after that and so I was just eating mine when my mom got me in the car so that we could go to a nature walk thing and lots of stuff happened.

majorly fun one-sentence time!!

Yesterday I went to Tavin's house and I brought my hex-bugs and he showed me his Halloween costume (A zombie hunter.) when I got there and then we played with the hex-bugs for a while and then we went out on his trampoline and we bounced and bounced and bounced and bounced and bounced and bounced and bounced and bounced and then I slipped on some pine straw and we found out that the pine straw was slippery so we bounced-slipped on it for a while and then Tavin said that he had a big ball that he bounce-rolls on so we found it in a big bush and got it out and we played with in in the trampoline and then it got dark so we went inside and we played with the hex-bugs for a while and then we played a board game called "Web Of Gold" and then his mom served us with a snack of chips and carrots and I ate all the chips and we started to play "Loot" and then I wanted to go out on the trampoline and bounce but it was dark so we got 4 flashlights and 1 lantern and then Tavin hooked it to a tree and so we bounced and bounced and bounced and bounced and bounced and bounced and bounced and bounced while looking at the stars and then we came in when Tavin said that he was hearing stuff and so we went in and he showed me some magic tricks like a jumping rubber band and a card trick and the coin-in-ears trick and he said it was his magnetic pocket and I figured out the card trick and then he did some cups-and-balls tricks and then supper was served and it was veggie burgers and corn and flat-bread and then we went up to his room and looked at some of his Lego sets and he brought one down and we played with it and I left and I arrived at 5:00 and left at 12:50 and it was one of the funnest times in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

monologue about judaism

How do you spell matzo? Anyway, Matzo ball soup is very good with Jewish massive saltines (matzah crackers), which Jewish people eat for Passover. And after that, someone hides the dessert so no one can find it, so someone pays them for giving it to them and they give it to them. When Moses plagued Egypt, he made zillions of frogs come up. That's a plague? What I wouldn't give to be there, I'm fine with frogs. If a Jew is trying to make a sukkah, and it always falls down and somehow shatters into dust, they can blame it on nazis with bazookas. Woah, I spelled that right! I'm a terrible speller and it was my first time trying to write that word and I got it on first try!!(Bazookas.)

A poem

Today I was just sitting on the couch,
on the very high top away from a grouch,
when Will came by!
Twas low for high!
He took his walking stick in hand,
and hurried with the nasty lot,
so feasted he on the apple tree
and ate a while in thought.
I was sitting there,
without a care,
and mobilized the couch
with a hare.
Will was there just in the tree,
when I came, with boxes of flame,
came sandering through the smooth big wood
and did not remember a name.
He jumped and fell, and in the bell
I hurled down onto the mell,
and fell on the seats with no big cleats.
as the couch passed by a well.
Will laid up there as I looked at him,
and I thought that I was rather dim.
As this happened, the couch went on and on,
far over scary mountains old
and through the mist that's full of mold,
it went away like a knight on day
like an ancient traveler bold.
The obstacle, it came quite fast
(Although it had a fit.)
To wedge itself between
Me, I, Will and It.
We fought till Five
over to strive
About the high spot
above the hive
Down to the north,
Up to the south,
Left to the east,
and round the mouth
Right to the west,
with compass bad,
we went across
being quite mad.
Will got off,
I got out,

short review of Fibonacci book

Today I read a book about Fibonacci called "Blockhead" by Joe D'Agnese.(I heard him talk at a author speech. He is very very generous.) It is written for young people, with interesting stories and superb illustrations. It has a lot of stuff about his life (which is little known about).  He had a puzzle that discovered the Fibonacci pattern of numbers: 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89,144,233,377 etc.

Lovely exercise ball

Today I got a new exercise ball! When I get exercise balls,  I play with them until they break ( My last one broke).   One of the ways I play with them is by running with them and then rolling on them while they're rolling, launching the player forwards fast.   It also bounces and is good for throwing at bypassers on no notice and it is hilarious!

I have a friend who is always afraid of extinct animals. He dreads pools and thinks of megladons. He hates snow and imagines Wooly mammoths. All the other times his thought are upon Tyrannosaurus and velociraptors. He's always living in the past. What a jitter.

I know people say they are extinct and so we don't need to be afraid of them.  But they left the thought behind, and that's bad enough...

Druidawn story


“You know, there ought to be a way to get things up and down the floors without carrying them, ” said Lab one regular morning the day after the parachute attempt. Wab thought and thought and thought and he found an idea hiding in the convoy of ideas that come by a few times after breakfast and twice at 5 o’clock on Wednesdays. He whispered it to Lab, and she remarked “Himm, that sounds possible to me. We’d need a lot of stuff, though.” 
Later, Jab, the dad, was sitting on his favorite chair and thinking if they were running low on cured ham when Wab came in and asked “ Hi dad! Have we got sand, giant balloons, rope, and sponges?” “Um, yes, we have all of those things.” Said Jab.
“ Thanks, Dad!” Said Wab and he ran out. 
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Kab, the mom, was just washing the dishes when Lab came in and she said “Hi Mom! Do we have any bags, baskets, pulleys and hammers?” “ Yes we have, why do you want all that?” “Um, it’s for a project.” “What sort of project?” “Why do you want to know!?” “ I’m your mom, it’s my job to-” KKABBLAMMM!!!! “What was that??!!” The walls shook after the terrific explosion. The table fell over, the pots and pans fell down from the celling, and Kab was so distracted that she didn’t notice Lab sneak out. 
Lab ran out into the yard and met up with Wab. She said ” Thanks, Mom was interrogating me.” “Nice diversion, eh? Anyway, let’s get the stuff.” said Wab. An hour later, Jab was just walking into the spiral staircase and was never prepared for the sight that met his eyes: every inch of wall was covered by ropes or pulleys, and in the middle of the high room was a small dirigible with lots of baskets attached! 
Up on the 10th floor, Wab and Lab were admiring their work. Jab went up to talk to them, and they told him “See, this is for transporting objects up and down floors without having to carry them. The baskets go along the ropes and they go up or down when you pull or push the rope, and the stuff can also be carried by the dirigible.”  “Yes, well that’s good, but my houseguest, the wizard, will be arriving soon, and if this place is as much of a mess as it is now-” 
At that the wizard strode into the room. Wab was mad and thought that he had came far too early. To end that when no-one was, looking, he dropped an egg into his hat, so when he put it on, the egg broke on his head, and he was very mad at Wab for that, and so he put a curse on him. 


The next morning, Wab woke up to find himself on the celling. “How odd, I don’t usually stay on the celling without assistance. The gravity might have been turned off, but when I jump, I fall back down to the celling! My personal gravity must have been reversed! Why does no one warn me when this stuff is going to happen!?”

PHILIP V OF SPAIN

PHILIP V OF SPAIN
Philip V (1683-1746) was a Frenchman who was king of Spain. Philip was the first Bourbon king of Spain. His entire reign of 45 years and 21 days is the longest in Spanish history. 
Philip was born in 1683 in the Palace of Versailles because he was the grandson of Louis XIV (the Fourteenth).  His title was Duke of Anjou, and he was raised as French nobility.   However, in 1700, Charles II (the last Habsburg king of spain) died childless.  In his will, Charles said Philip should be the next king of Spain because he was the grandson of Charles’s sister, Maria Theresa, who married Louis XIV (the Fourteenth).   There was another claim to the throne by the Archduke Charles of Austria (who eventually became Charles VI, the Holy Roman Emperor).  They finally decided to make Philip king of Spain, but he had to renounce his claim to the French throne.
Many European countries were worried that France and Spain would join under the Bourbon King Philip.  This lead to the War of Spanish Succession from 1701-1704.  This war was fought in Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, and even in the American colonies, where it was called Queen Anne’s War (Anne was the Queen of England at the time).  Spain lost the war and had to give away some territory to its enemies.  This was the point of Spanish decline.

Bleauuggg I ate too much

Uggghhh. Today I went to baseball. It was very hot, very VERY hot. I also went to my Newbery book club. After that, my mom and I went to the store to get some food. I found a package and my mom said that what was in it was a suprise, but I could have a surprise in the surprise, but not the surprise, which doesn't make sense. And so then we made pizza, making our own dough from a bread machine and I put too mutch water in it, so it got like ginger ale, so my mom put lots of flour in it and that worked. After that we ate it and the end of this blog.

Today my Tad got a drailer! It's sort of an open low-walled wox on beels.   Mhe tedal bit is a rivid ved.  I read He Tobbit  by T. R. Jolken. It's one of the best rooks I've ever bead! As good as the rord of the lings originally! Iats thit for bhis tlog.

Today I went to zoo club today. First I hung out in the gym with Edward, and we started bowling with sticks and basketballs and Gwyneth joined us. The score looks like this:

So after playing around for a while, we came in for the lesson. In it we saw a live real owl! His name is Pigwigeon.  He is an Eastern screech owl.  The lesson was about biodiversity.

Apple apple

Today I was just walking around when I found a Wish-granting Genie so I said: "I wish I would type apple at the end of every sentence," and that was that apple.  So now everything I blog or say will be ended in apple apple!In my yard I have constructed a Sukkah for my Jewish friend apple. It's for Sukkot apple. He built his days before but it was blown down during a storm, so I built one for him and will let him stay in it for Sukkot if his Jewish mom lets him apple. Their whole family is Jewish apple. A sukkah is a kind of a hut; it must have at least 3 walls and a roof of natural material apple.That's it for this blog apple.

Newspaper Club

Today I went to my newspaper club. It is  1/4 work and 3/4 play.
                                                                              
The first thing we do is we all arrive at Ryan's house, then we look at the previous issue, then we write group stories, then individual stories, then we draw comics, then do some other writing. Then we sort of move into the main room, then we go downstairs and play air hockey. After 9 games, we go off and take turns playing the video games for an hour or two, Then Ryan's mom tells us that pizza is here, and then we go and eat it and then we go outside and play running around-ish games until we're exhausted and then we leave.

Hydrogen experament

Early balloons, that didn't depend on hot air, used the gas hydrogen for lift. Later on hydrogen was replaced by helium as the gas of choice. Hydrogen gave good lift and was cheap to get, but was also very explosive. Hydrogen is the most plentiful element in the universe and can be made by splitting a molecule of water apart into two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen. Here's how you can do it at home.
STEP 1: Get two pieces of wire about six inches in length each. Strip off any of the insulation leaving only the metal core.
STEP 2: Find a nine volt battery.
STEP 3: Get a glass filled with water and mix in a couple of teaspoons of baking soda (If you don't have baking soda you can use salt instead).
STEP 4: Wrap the wires around the battery terminals and then dip the free ends of the wires into the water.
STEP 5: Observe the bubbles rising from the wires. The water is being split by the electric current into the gases oxygen and hydrogen. These are the bubbles that you observe.
Warning! The amount of hydrogen produced by this experiment is to small to be dangerous, but don't try to gather the bubbles of hydrogen or oxygen. Let them disperse naturally into the air.

In the D.C. zoo, they have a South American exhibit, and the first thing you see when you walk in are ENOURMOUS Rays! I mean, they don't have Rays that big in the oceans!( Except the Manta Ray) They were bigger than any Ray I've ever seen before!
