HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Today is Dad's Birthday! I got him (Unsaid number) presents and while I was wrapping them I ran out of wrapping paper so Mom got me some tissue paper and after that I ran out of tape so I used double-sided tape. I hid them (Unsaid location).  He might like them and He might not.

A peck o' T.R.s

I was just reading random books today when I noticed the similarities between Dinosaurs and Dragons. If you think about it, you might realize some similarities. Therefore I came up with a new theory: Dragons evolved from Dinosaurs! Odd Theory, don't you think?

The Sahara Desert

The Sahara Desert is the hottest and second biggest desert in the world! It covers more than half of North Africa and shares 12 countries! The Nile and a few other oases flow through it. Fossils of Jobarias were found in 1997 in Tiouraren Formation. Lots of volcanic mountains can be found in it. The Tanezrouft is the worst and lifeless area of the Sahara. Lots of camels can be found down in deep gorges and canyons around it. The desert is populated with Sand Vipers, spotted Cheetahs, ostriches and many sorts of foxes. Berbers are the oldest human inhabits of the Sahara. Many Biblical scenes took place in the north-east Sahara. It’s prime Territory for sand storms and dust devils.

SNIFF Improving...

Tonight I'm feeling better than I was this morning. My nose stopped running and I lost a cold. Today I went to a Thanksgiving potluck after crafting a Menorah out of donuts. Then I felt bored and tired. On the way back Mom stopped to get some citrus. Once we got home I lounged about in bed and felt much better.

Synagogue

Today I went to a Jewish synagogue. I wore my fanciest clothes! Mom wrote her blog post about it, but it goes on from Purim to Rosh Hashanah. The service was like choir.   Everyone who did the service before sang a lot. I wore a hat called a yarmulke.  It kept falling off my head. After the service we went and had some nosh. Then we toured the building. I read a comedy version of Exodus. I had a very good time. There I heard a joke/proverb: Put 2 Jews together and you get 18.385 different options, each of which is the opposite of all the others!

Brrrrrrrrrrr....

Tonight Mom took me to Cameron Village to hear a choir sing. My friends Robert and Matthew sang in it. Matthew grew 3 feet since last time I saw him. They were singing Christmas carols and by the time I went home my head was chock-full of carols! It was very, very, very, very, very fun! On the way back I had a conversation about avid gamers and my Christmas list. Nice night. By the way, what's an ETROG? It has something to do about Jewish...

Another day.

Today was the last day of co-op for this semester. I did geology and bioliogy. The moms that teach this work very very hard and I really enjoy the classes and I learned loads.  In the geology class I heard about the 3 types of rock and in biology I heard about parts of cells.

As we were coming home, Mom stopped at a grocery store and spent so long shopping there that by the time we got out, it was dark! Then she went to the grocery store across the street, then we drove a while, then we stopped at another grocery store as she forgot something from the others, then we got home!

Long ride

Today I drove to Asheboro and back! I spent a very long time in the car. Mom got me some oranges so I ate them right up and our car will be smelling like citrus for days now. On the way there we stopped and got some hot dogs and on the way back we got some pizza. We left home at dawn and got home after dark. I brought 4 books to read and read 1 over and over. I also played with my Mom's cellaphone a lot. We stopped at HOBBY LOBBY on our way there. Mom says I should get working on my Christmas list even though it's not Thanksgiving yet! I also went to the zoo for zoo club and saw a Flamingo. Some of my friends and I played around the zoo and it started to rained. On the way to it it was a picturesque day!

MMMMMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mom is constantly being summoned around the house. Me and my dad depend on her too much. We always call for for any sort of problem, though we could fix them ourselves with no effort, we always call her for any sort of problem and plenty of times for no reason at all. She is always hearing "MOM! The heating went down!!" "CAROL! The open window is letting in the cold!!" "MOM! I'm hungry!!" "CAROL! I can't find my screwdriver collection!!" "MOM! We depend on you too much!!" "CAROL!" "MOM!!!!!!!!!!" And sometimes we [Me and my dad.] have shouting wars that sound like this: "MMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Which blows Mom's eardrums, you know.

A good book

Anyway, yesterday I read HIS MAJESTY'S DRAGON by Naomy Novik and it is a very good book. It is about a captain of a ship when they capture a french splintery rubble heap and find that its cargo is a very valuable dragon egg, which hatches before they can get it to land. Its name is Temeraire and it becomes a good friend of Capt. Will Laurence. The 2 go off to join the air force, and are sent to a scottish island for training and meet other dragons and dragon-riders, like Volatilus with Capt. James, a fast dragon, though simple and ending all his sentences with a ! And Lily with Capt. Harcourt, a old and big dragon who survived heavy wounds in a ambush.

Then we went bowling and I won 2 games in a row---first time I did anything of the sort. We then went to get fresh just-arrived grapefruits from Florida and then I got home and read HIS MAJESTY'S DRAGON and now I'm writing my blog.

New Boat

Today my dad bought a new boat and towed it out into the middle of the lawn. The previous owner called it "Mr. Moon." Dad tried to put a tarp over it to keep it from rain and leaves and I helped with that. It looks like perfect hiding place, and one could just slip under the tarp and lay in the cabin or out under the benches and read or snack, preferably both.

Henry Clay

Henry Clay was a main War Hawk;  he was one of the important supporters of the War of 1812.    He was voted into  the House of Representatives In 1811 and was voted Speaker in his first day (something that had never been done before and hasn’t been done since). Clay was a most powerful Speaker of the House of Representatives yet (and successful and popular, too).
He Was Very Supportive Of The American Plan (or, The Monkey or, the Every Man For Himself At The Expense Of His Neighbors Plan).  In the American Plan, people had to pay tariffs or taxes on imported or exported goods.  The money went to the federal government to make a large central bank and to pay for roads and canals and such.

Later, he was the founder and leader of the Whig Party! Clay also introduced the drink called a Mint Julep to DC.

Watching My mom work her lampshades off

My mom's awake in her chair now. This morning she made some cinnamon rolls for breakfast after going to the farmers market. Been cold and grey out all day. Cinnamon Rolls taste good. Yesterday I did some Baseball and went to a art studio where I ate a Itailain Sausige. Tonight I'm going to a halloween party. There might be any food there.

A minimalist's day 2.0

Today I went to art class (My favorite  subject) And when I got back my Mom lit a fire in the fireplace, and I toasted marshmallows until they caught fire and I ate them. We had some Lazanya for supper and for dinner.

Co-op Day

Today First I woke up. My mom said to get out of my pajamas and into my clothes.  She said I had 3 hours before co-op, so she asked "What do you want for breakfast?" and I replied "English muffins!" and she asked "Are you going to eat them?"(see, of late I have not been eating my breakfast), and so I said "No, but I don't want to do work first thing in the morning." That quite put Mom in a mood. She sent me to do some online math on the computer, and once I got that done I did stuff on the internet.

Mom told me to get out of my pajamas and into my clothes, and to wear some clean clothes, so I did just that. I wore yellow-white plaid shirt and my dark blue pants. I then had some lunch, remarked about hobbit's days (Breakfast, Second Breakfast, Elevenses, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Dinner, and Supper), and then mom told me that my teacher forgot to do something in class and needed to make sure that we had a sheet of paper marked "The Rock Cycle Game" And I did have that. My Mom got me in the car and we left for co-op.

When we got back, my dad lit a fire in the fireplace for my comfort and I warmed up by it while reading. My Dad and Mom warmed up and read by it also. We had dinner there and had Peas and Ground Beef with Broccoli. After that I read by the fire for a while and my mom read by it until it went out.

Why you can't count on the next generation to appreciate the American way of life

Today I took a walk with my mom as we walked to a voting place. Mom voted for some people and I don't remember who now. On our walk we talked about voting and the government. I don't see why I have to contribute before I'm old enough to vote. Although I don't know why I'm making it a big deal about not being allowed to vote. When you vote, as you know, you decide which candidate to vote for by their policies, and I don't understand the policies, so I have no idea who to vote for and so I shouldn't make a big deal about not voting until I turn 20. The problem is that I have little appreciation for our federal government because I don't understand it and I'm not allowed to have a say in it. I care more about botany.

Fun facts

Today I learned some interesting things. A cicada killer has the biggest stinger you've seen on a wasp! Some plants have separate genders! Red anthills always face due south. HEAVE-HO! SPLASH, THUMP! Black walnuts are costly; you can plant them in your yard now and by the time you're grown up, you can sell them and make profitable money. Bison used to live in North Carolina prairies; if you can find a forgotten prairie in an odd corner, maybe you can find some! River oats are uncommon. Beech forests in very early november remind me of The Shire and Hobbiton.
