Some melodramatic writing

Today, I got up early and did not much until a concert at sunset. When I got there, we set up blankets and our picnic stuff. We ate and drank and talked until the program started. Here is what we heard:
It has a real western feel, don't you think? But after that, a bad rain started pouring down hard and the very air reeked with thunder and the lightning flashed cross the sky like a great spark burning to the deepest air with the very fire of nuclear, passion-like blazing inferno, ripping a twisted, spiky, sparky crevice in the sky, echoing its gargantuan BROOM louder than then an eternity of blazing sonic cannonballs exploding with the wrath of flames and fire. Needless to say, we decided to sit under the shelter at the back. (It was Koko Booth Amphitheater, so a nice shelter was at the back.) I ran into my friend Robert and his parents there. I also got a free bag! We sat and drank and ate and talked. Time went by nicely slowly. But after a long time, the symphony who was doing the concert announced that the weather was too bad to continue. As an apology, we got to use our tickets at another one! So we sat and drank and ate and talked even more and time was at its slowest. But then, the staff told us that we had better get going soon, for a terrible tremendous tempest with the force of a million nuclear hurricanes was on its way there, so we packed up and left in a hurry. And that was it! Look at O'l Mom's version here.
